About Us

The Silver Rehabilitation Center, as a unique social care institution in this part of Europe, stands out for its innovative approach to the rehabilitation of people with disabilities and children with developmental difficulties. What makes the Center special is the integration of assistance dogs into the rehabilitation process. Guide dogs, rehabilitation dogs, and therapy dogs actively participate in supporting users, contributing to their recovery and improving their quality of life. The services provided by the Center are based on the principles of equality, fairness, and high-quality standards, taking into account the individual needs and capabilities of each user. The goal is to enable users to integrate as fully as possible into the local community, encourage their independence, and empower them for daily life.

The core values of the Center are rehabilitation and full inclusion, providing every user with the opportunity for personal progress and social integration. This vision fully supports the goal of creating an equal and just society for all. The founder of the Silver Rehabilitation Center is the City of Zagreb, which further emphasizes the social responsibility and commitment of the local community in supporting people with disabilities.

The program activities of the Silver Center include:

  • People with visual impairments.

  • People with limited mobility and wheelchair users.

  • Children with developmental disabilities (cerebral palsy, autism, blindness, neuro-risk children, ADHD, etc.).

  • People with physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities.

Accommodation Facilities The Center provides accommodation and residency services during the rehabilitation programs and home care services. Accommodation is provided in spaces adapted to the needs of users. The tactile-sensory park of the Silver Center, with its pathways and fragrant plants, is designed to make it easier for people with visual impairments to navigate the space, and its one-level design allows for unrestricted movement for people with mobility difficulties. The Center can accommodate about forty dogs (dogs in training, females with puppies, isolation), and it also has an internal veterinary service.

Our team

Our team at the Silver Rehabilitation Center is a small, yet highly dedicated and cohesive group of professionals who work every day to provide support and empower our users. Through two specialized programs – Sensory Integration Therapy with the help of a therapy dog and Rehabilitation with a therapy dog – our goal is to improve the quality of life of every individual we work with.

Our approach is based on a high level of expertise, deep empathy, and a carefully tailored approach to each user, as we believe that only through individualized care can we achieve real and lasting changes. Through our work, alongside therapy dogs, we witness positive shifts in the everyday lives of our users, enabling them to face life's challenges with more confidence, joy, and functionality.
